Are Slavics considered Asian?

Are Slavic people or people of Slavic descent considered Asian (if not in a physical, a technical sense)? I've seen several Slavics (including myself) with blonde hair, pale skin and blue eyes but they have Asian facial features like Asian eyes. Russians and Middle Eastern people are considered Asian although the idea of Asian people is Chinese, Japanese, Korean, ect so would Slavics fall into that since Russians are Slavic?

Are Slavics considered Asian?

Wow, you have a point. But I would say, since most Russians live on the European side of Russia, they are Eastern European. They tend to be a bit darker than other Europeans, and some almost look Arabic or Latino.

Ex. George Lopez. On his show, his daughter is Albinian in real life, but plays a Mexican girl on the show. And you would never know the difference.

Are Slavics considered Asian?

do you mean slavic as in czech republic czech slavic, or slovakia slovak?

Are Slavics considered Asian?

No, Slavs are White people of Eastern European ancestry.

Are Slavics considered Asian?

uh.. noooooo..?

why would they be asian when they are located in europe?

part of russia is in asia, so the asian russians are.. asian! lol

but why would u think slavs are asian? lol.. theyre white.. european. NOT asian.!

Are Slavics considered Asian?

technically, Eurasian meaning both european and asian. Depending upon your location example Russia you can be asian or european

Are Slavics considered Asian?

Slavics are not Asian, no, they're caucasian Eastern Europeans. The Asian features can happen because Slavic people are not the only ones to inhabit (former) Russia, so you are likely of mixed descent somewhere along the line.

Are Slavics considered Asian?

The Slavic people are originally of Eastern European origin, but there has been significant mixing between Slavs and other ethnic groups over the past 1500 years or so. Many Slavic people today have some Mongolian or Central Asian ancestry, which accounts for their Asian features.

Oh, and Russians are not Asians either, at least most of them aren't. The country of Russia extends into Asia and there are Russian citizens who are members of Asian ethnic groups, but ethnic Russians are Europeans. But like other Slavs, many modern Russians do have some Asian ancestry mixed in. Remember that the Genghis Khan's Mongol forces invaded Eastern Europe in the early 13th century and weren't completely pushed out for over 200 years. This period was responsible for a lot of the part-Asian ancestry of modern Eastern Europeans.

This isn't unique to Slavs, of course. There has always been genetic back-and-forth between European and Asian people, it's just that this was more common in Eastern Europe and Western/Central Asia because they are so close together.

ETA: Let me put this in other words, since you still seem confused. Few if any people today are "pure" Slavs. Slavs have been mixing with Turks, Mongolians, etc., for centuries, so many modern Slavs are actually part Asian. But the original Slavic people apparently originated in Eastern Europe and so were European by definition.

Most of the people in Europe speak an Indo-European languages, so that doesn't tell us anything special about the Slavs. French, English, Italian, Spanish, and German are all Indo-European.

Are Slavics considered Asian?

Slavic types vary in a very wide range, depending on the nations and races they assimilated with. The most of Slavs have not a one of so-called "Asian" characteristics. The fact that they inhabited some parts of Asia in ancient times isn't enough by itself. Many other European nations have their origins in Asia too.

Are Slavics considered Asian?

Slavics are Eastern Europeans.

Are Slavics considered Asian?

they're white.........!!!!

like all other countries in europe

Are Slavics considered Asian?

As far as I know, Slavic people are considered to be European.

Are Slavics considered Asian?

Ok, just because YOU have some random Asian admixtures in your blood, doesn't mean that you can fairly characterize all Slavs as Asians. No, we did not originate in Asia, whoever told you that was a fool. Get that Eurasian label away from me. The people that you say look Asian probably have some Asian ancestors (especially if they are from anywhere near the border of the "Slavic lands"). Siberia is one big permanent colony of Russia, Slavs migrated there in the 15th-16th centuries. Ethnic Slavs are white and usually are only slightly darker then Scandinavians. Under no conditions do we have Asian eyes.
