i have very nice hair dark black and between curly and waves. im mixed black and asian. when i straighten my hair the heat makes it curl up and when i where is down and natural is gets nappy kinda. any suggestions.

THAT IS EXCATLY HOW MY HAIR IS!

First I blow try and brush it out, as striaght as I can.

Next I use this stuff in a orange bottle.

Then I straighten it!

and its perfect!

(for the orange bottle stuff, you should look for something at the store that says "perfect for curly hair!" or something like that.)

shampoo and condition ur hair, than brush it when ur in the shower. when u get out towel dry ur hair. after put some moose in ur har and scrunch it. dont brush ur hair after u towel dry ur hair. if this doesnt work on ur hair than after u towel dry it, lightly use a curling iron to ur hair and than moose it(dont scunch).

I'm Asian too and I used the color pulse... red. It made my highlights [i had those done before] turn BRIGHT red and my regular hair tinted so you could tell, but not really. After so many washes it was out of my undyed hair but stuck to my highlights for quite a while. If you want temporary color it's great, after every wash though you can tell dramatically that it comes out.

Trust me when I tell you to NEVER use products from stores, always go to Sally's Beauty Supply, or some other beauty supply shop. They have people there that can help you pick the right color, %26amp; they cost 1/3 the price. One time in a pinch, I bought hair color from the drug store, as close to the one I get from Sally's, the top of my hair stayed that color for months. Years ago I did it too, my hair turned black in 5 minutes, the color was suppose to be dark red. I thought they got better all these years later, but no. I refuse to pay hair stylest$40, when I do myself for $5, I get lots of compliments.

japanese straightening works really well. the only down side is it cost a lot and makes your hair look thin, so you have to blow dry it to make your hair look thicker. japanese straightening stays for about a few months.

Hiya! I flat-iron all the time! I have natural curly hair, and want it straight, about 2yrs ago, I dropped around 150$$ for a thing called a Vertigo hair straightner at the salon. Well..It worked on some parts of my hair, others did not take it as well...They said I could try it again in a few months. It made my hair dry and after about a month or so, the other parts went back to being curly. I did not go back for round 2. I do not know about the japanesse thing...but after trying everything else...I am kinda done trying, and will just keep ironing away! Good luck!

basically im 17 and im asian, im currently really pushing myself every day at the gym, im around 5,10 n i really wanna get proper muscly i can see my 6 pak coming through and my biceps and pecs are increasing, BUT, theres a problem i can see little thin hairs appearing over the middle of my tummy, back and upper arms, i dont really like being hairy as im planning to go on holday soon and dont really want my 6 pack and muscles covered in thick hair and even in the long run it dont look good, i got hair all over my legs n backside unortunately, just wondering if theres anything i can do to stop it growing all over my chest or even stop it growing extremely thick. Being asian you will prob have noticeable dark hairs but they should be fine not coarse. Beauticians can use impulse light treatment to kill off hair root growth however although this is claimed to be permenent, the medical evidence doesnt back this up. You would remain hair free for quite some time and it works much better on dark hair than blonde. Should you wax or shave, you can now buy moisturisers by normal beauty companies that delay the regrowth of hair so that you remain smoother for longer.

I'm Thai (Asian), so I want it to look really nice, subtle, but at the same time you can notice it as well. Go for a dark plum red/burgundy. This will be beautiful with your skin tone and very complimentary. Tell your hairdresser that you want between 2 - 3 levels of lift, only.

If you go with partial highlights, just on the top of your head with a heavier concentration around your face, it's about 1/2 the price as a full head. You can probably get partial highlights for $40 - $60.

I always tip my hairdresser 20%.

i've always thought asians that have your color hair which appears to be a very dark brown and not black - look good with ash brown highlights. they are not warm with "orange or red undertones" but more like ash grey/blonde brown. I really don't like the asian with "orange/red" highlight look. You'll have to bleach strands to a very light color (past yellow) and then have someone put toning shades on those bleached strands to make them appear ash/brown/blonde.

I'm asian too and I love my highlights! I only started getting this done last year. I wanted something natural and not too dramatic just like you. I started with going two shades lighter (brown), but it was not noticeable. I have since been going three shades lighter. I've gotten compliments on how well the color looks on me and how it compliments my skin color. I'm not a fan of the red highlights because that's just not attractive or natural to me. I only do partial highlights and my stylist charges $30.

Coming from me, the beauty expert, Fortunately, I have the same hair as you (only I have a mixture of black and brown), so I know exactly how to wear your hair.

You should wear your hair in a sassy, yet natural personality like hair up and down or maybe you can even braid your hair the night before and spray it with Hard hold hairspray before you go to bed. So the next morning, you can let all your braids (I had 12 braids) down, and kind of puff it all out, but DONT brush it or that will straighten it. That leaves your hair with a cute wavy look that lasts you the whole day. Another option is pig-tails. I suggest you make them low, so they are in front of your shoulders. That leaves me looking sassy, and yet down-to-earth. But if you're a real nature-lover, try wear artificial or maybe even real flowers in your hair so it looks like you are Hawaiian and a care-free cutie! You can also try wear hairband to make you look balanced. But if you really want to spice it up, you can wear a ponytail and a headband so you could look balanced and cute. Your hair is the major and (I believe) te best accessory you can own, so you can sometimes have fun with it, and don't be afraid to mix-n-match the styles I suggested! Me too!! Blonde highlights will ruin your hair, the first time it may look ok, but after 1 or 2 touch ups, my hair started breaking and falling out and the short strands would stick straight up like that alfalfa kid on little rascals.

Right I'm asian and I'm pretty fair. At least that's what people tell me. But I notice my face is like 2 or 2 shade fairer than the rest of my body and it looks really noticeable in pictures. I look pretty much like a ghost. Espcially if I'm snapping pics in a room, not under direct sunlight. My lips look RED and my face like a piece of white paper.

Since I'm going to have a long holiday, I'm planning to tan my skin using The Natural Source Self Tanner. Anyone have any comment? Will it turn my skin orangey? And will I look ok if I use it on my face? If not, I can use a bronzing lotion on my face.

So, I have very straight Asian hair and I want to curl it. I have used a curling iron in the past before and now I'm using bendy rollers and I think they work better than the curling iron.

I use them on damp hair with a bit of mousse in it, then I go to bed.

The next morning, I have beautiful curls. I use gelspray and they hold. But I go to school by bike, and when I get off, my hair is usually flat! What can I do to keep the curls in? I've used a clip before, but it flattens a section of my hair... Anyone?

ummm i don't have any pictures but if your hair is tooo dark try making it lighter like dying it blonde a couple times (it will make your hair a lighter brown) and after that you can add like bleach blonde highlights

i have 3 solutions.

1) my mate (similar complexion 2 u) wanted to do this, but eventually she decided to have it bright red at the bottom, fading into her natural (dark brown/black) colour at the top. it looked really cool and you don't have to worry about the roots growing out 'coz the bit next to your scalp is your natural color anyway.

2) dye it one of those black colours with a colour shine, like blue or red, those look really cool.

3) use henna, it's totally natural so it shouldn't harm you or make you look totally random like some of the home kit radical colours. if you want it to look really red pic the red one from (i advise) lush or lush.com if you want it even redder add lemon juice!!

p.s.if you're doing it at home don't 4 get to use a strand test.

i also have had black hair. if you mean two toned as in highlights or lowlights or whatever, yes i think it would look good. however try black or brown/dark brown on bottom layer and auburn.brown on the top. don't go too red though. it would look to brassy. if you are going to hairstylist, they would have samples, try placing on hair to see effect and then choose.

I am a hairstylist, and two toned is very popular right now, I would recommend that you get it professionally done because store bought hair color sometimes has metallic dies in it and that is very bad for your hair. also make sure that you have the money to get prosessional shampoo and conditioner because it can be hard to keep your color from fading other wise! good luck

I am a mixture of Black, Cuban, and Asian and I have the weirdest hair ever. I have NEVER met anyone with my type of hair and it is really hard to find products that work for me. My hair is wavy, but it is kind of like a tight wave. It looks kind of like when you braid your hair over night, and unbraid it the next day. That type of wavy, but kind of small and consistent from the roots. But on the back of my head, my hair curls up into big bouncy curls. Well i dont think i can help u completley but im russian and black and i guess my hair is a little "weirder" too.Some days its exremnly curly an other days it more wavy.My sissters hair is different though.Its so beautiful and kinky sometimes ,spiral curles and other times it looks like she hasnt had a perm in months! What determines her hair (and also mine ) is how we wash it !!!! Im not sure if ive ever seen hair like yours but i would sugest washing it with a super moisturising shampoo(like pantene) and afterwards using a GOOD conditioner(pantene has good ones as well) and rinsing it out not completly but that your hair feels soft(rinse it out with cold COLD water!!) .Then to make it look even better you can use some hair products by Sunsilk to keep frizz away. This shuld make the most beautiful out of your georgeous hair !!!!

You get Italians who have Alpine/Northern blonde hair and blue eyes as well as really dark skinned with almost kinky-curly hair despite the stereotype of them being darker skinned and featured with wavy hair.

You have white hispanics with blonde hair and blue eyes though people typecast them as all being dark skinned with almost arabic-esque, indigenous people or Mexican.

You can even have blacks/Africans with naturally blonde hair and very light skin but they are still African/black regardless (i'm referring to Africans, not black Americans of which most are racially mixed).

You are what you feel and say you are. I can pass no judgment. Me? I'm Puerto Rican, Italian, Irish and Polish, mostly PR %26amp; Italian (45/45). I consider myself "other", or part Puerto Rican part European mutt. People want to consider me just white or just Italian (occassionally just PR/hispanic). But I feel inside and out that I'm as I identify (which does have truth to it), as mixed or other. That way I'm free of labels.

I am asian with a heart shaped face. Whatever you want blue, because you hair is black, you will have to bleach. You can't go from straight up black hair to blue. Your hair will have a tinted blue-black look in bright light at best. If you don't want to bleach you could have extensions, especially since you just want a bit of your hair underneath blue. I think extensions will work best for what you are saying you want. If you do decide to bleach and don't go to a salon read instructions carefully. If you have very dark black hair you will need either stronger bleach or to bleach more than once (with time in between). Bleach can also damage your hair and, if you don't know what your are doing, there have been examples of peoples hair melting or running down the drain. So if you choose bleach you should probably go to a hair salon or stylist. Again I think since you only want the bottom underneath, extensions will work best. (And time and cost is less as well). Blue is an AWESOME choice by the way, one of the best colours. It will look amazing with your black hair!!!! Good Luck!!!!

Since you have black hair, I'd leave it natural myself.. BUT if you do want color...get a brown color with red in it...it won't make your hair red or brown (it's hard to dye black hair!)...but in the sun, your hair will have a goldish- red undertone. Use a shampoo for blonde hair. They're usually called "violet" shampoos, and off of the top of my head, I know a brand called Artec and another called Rene Furturer (sp) make one. Wash your hair immediately after swimming to remove the chemicals.

You could probably go to any beauty supply store and ask the clerk, but I don't think you'll be finding anything at a drugstore.

I also heard that if you put conditioner in your hair before you swim, and shampoo it immediately after that helps, but I'm not positive about the conditioner bit.

Korean/Japanese/ Chinese hair is very strong and requires real precision cutting. Hairstylists who mainly work with Caucasian hair find Asian hair a challenge, so unless you want to take a risk, i'd stick to what you know when it comes to hair.

I'm asian with long thick wavy hair. It gets frizzy when I blowdry it so I avoid doing so. I just let my hair dry naturally but still it isn't really drying the way that I want it to. I heard there's this tool out there called diffuser out there. I wanted to get it but wanted to see if it's worth it before I go out and get it. How can I use the diffuser to get defined waves without getting all the frizzes? Also, if my hair is wavy, should I go for shampoo that is designed for curly hair? A good moisturizing shampoo and separate conditioner is good. Even if the shampoo has conditioner, still do a separate conditioner. For your frizzies there are serums specifically for frizzies. Also a light weight mousse would be good as well.

I have given this advice before and have had thank-yous coming back to me. Buy yourself some glycerin at the drugstore. It's about $3 a bottle and is the main ingredient in all your "Frizz-free" products that can cost you way much more.

A dime-sized drop on your hand, rub your hands together, then apply to your damp hair all over starting at the roots, comb through. You will have waves, no frizz, and lots of shine....Good Luck!
