Asian stereotype...?

yeah i've heard a lot about asian stereotypes like we're good at math and all that, i'm an asian girl but i do not fit the description at all.. the only thing that is "asian" about me is that i look asian and im skinny. One, i am loud, i talk a lot, i love hip hop (i'm on the hip hop team), my fashion is mixed between hip hop and couture, i have long WAVY hair instead of the usual pin straight, i'm not freaking smart and most of my friends aren't even asian. It gets so annoying when ppl meet me and tell me "wow you are so not asian" or the funny looks i get from ppl when i know a rap song. People accuse me all the time for being something i'm not when this is who i really am. Typical asian guys think i'm crazy just because i don't act "asian".. what do you guys think?

Asian stereotype...?

Individuality is hot. Don't change for anybody but yourself.

Asian stereotype...?

maybe because you are not straight from asia u lived in north america most your life

Asian stereotype...?

yeah....i hate that smart one.....

oh..and what do you mean don't act "Asian" look, I'm Asian, and i don't think there is a way to act "Asian" unless your acting on a stereotype, and i don't think anyone would want to do this.

Also, they might think you are being a poser, this wont last long, because We have been accepted into the hip-hop group

Asian stereotype...?

you have answered your own question. "I am not smart"

Sorry, not the best answer but couldnt help it.

No one has to be typical anything. good luck

Asian stereotype...?

If you grew up in a Western culture, chances are you aren't going to fit that specific stereotype.

It's not a bad thing that you do or you don't.

Just do the things you like to do and be yourself.

You'll be fine.

Asian stereotype...?

Be yourself....and you will be fine. Never mind the " You are so not Asian " comments....you know who you are. Be happy.

Asian stereotype...?

I think you sound very un-asian and typically western actually.

Over emotionally caught up in image and fashion.

Asian stereotype...?

Oh, you seem to say alot about people see you have a different taste in music and fashion. From your discription, I get a feeling that, they don't see you as a person, as an indvidual. Maybe this is your way to stand out and be noticed? But other people have their own uniqueness not just you. If you can find acceptance in others they may acceptance in you.

"It is not the failure of others to appreciate your abilities that should trouble you, but rather your failure to appreciate theirs."...Confucius

Asian stereotype...?

Don't worry about people not being up to put you in a nice little box. You know who you are, and that's what's important. I'm Mexican and I've gotten "you don't act Mexican" so many freaking times it's not even funny. Plus, how in the world can someone act Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, Black, Italian, etc? Not everyone has the same tastes in things, not even if they come from the same country or have the same culture! Some people are just plain dumb. Don't worry about them.

Hugs.

Asian stereotype...?

I'm guessing by "Asian" you mean like Chinese and not Indian/Bangladeshi/Sri Lankan etc, as in the UK. I think it doesn't matter if you don't fit into the Chinese sterotype, or whatever other stereotype there is. Just be yourself. And knowing a rap song doesn't make you less Chinese, neither does not having many Asian friends.

Asian stereotype...?

A lot of Asian Americans are like you

Asian stereotype...?

i think you really don't care about this issue, but are trying to tell us that you're so cool because you hear people tell you that you act westernized. You also think that because you act westernized that you're better than the asians that don't act westernized. Very common amongst westernized asian girls.
