I want to dye my hair purple and I'm asian so originally my hair is black any suggestions?

If you are just going for a tint, most anything.

There is a special line of dyes for dark hair if you want more color (I think it's by Loreal)

If you want strong color - you need bleach. (Suggest going to a salon, you can really mess it up yourself. Find someone who's had practice with dark hair. And it will change the texture.)

well my dear, do not put bleach in your hair, it being black will kill it completely before you can get a decent blonde colour, not a dark orange. if your lightening it, you need it a decent colour for when your colour fades.

are you after a BRIGHT purple, or like a classy purplish tint?

if your after the tint, it should still show up in your black hair, and will look crazy in the sun.

or... you could go to the hairdresser, and get either foils (smaller streaks), or splices (bigger chunks) of blonde, and then dye purple into the blonde bits. the hair dresser will use a tint, not a bleach... or of they use a bleach they can do it properly.
