Hi, a few months ago I asked "What hairstyle fits me" and I decided to grow it out... people tend to like it... say I look nice... but I am Asian so the back of my hair tends to be flat... I REALLY HATE THAT! so I decided to put on wax...I use a one from Japan that my friend use with great results... I try it and my fair doesn't get more volume...This wax cost 25$ and only contains about half a cup of wax... am I doing something wrong?!? I wake up,put it on,nothing happens... and I seen videos on how to do it! I follow everything including the hair spray and roots part... WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?!?! If you Yahooerz have any GOOD wax... that you tried with AMAZING results please do share...
This might sound girly, but try using some volumnizing shampoo and mousse. It'll add definition to your hair and it won't be as flat.
are you placin it on top of the hair or on the scalp? it will be flat if you put it on top of hair put the wax in yur hands and warm it up by rubbing hands together then lift the hair from underneth and work up ward.hope this helps use lil at a time
you're probably using too much. you only need about a dimes worth. don't apply it at the scalp. go about 3 inches from your scalp. make sure you rub it in your hands first to be sure you are evenly distributing it.
I dont know why, im just a teen. Im not even in my 20's yet but this has been bothering me for quite some time. For some reason on my eyebrow and random body parts Im growing white silverish hair. Its not like alot. The most Ive found on myself at one time was like 3 and I usually just pluck or pull them, but it grows freakishly fast and long. in 2-3 weeks a long white strand about 1.5-2 inches grows on my eyebrows. My familys asian and think its good luck so I try to keep it but still freaky to me. And it bothers me knowing I cant find anyone else online that isnt a senior that has this problem. SERIOUSLY...IM NOT EVEN 20 YET x|
Anyone know why this is happening? I dont expect alot of answers for this X_x
I think white hair at an early age comes from stress. I only say that because my friend always had naturally really dark brown hair, but her parents got divorced when she was about 12. In the middle of the divorce a piece of hair right by her bangs started growing in white at the roots. She let it grow out with the rest of her hair..and ever since then she just has this white piece in the middle of the rest of her dark hair. I wouldn't know the medical reason or anything...but maybe you're too stressed!

It could be genetic. Look at your dad's or your mom's. In my family, three out of five have grey hairs before we reached ten years old.
I work with Asian teens and many have a few white hairs - it's not unusual - some tint them, others leave them - I think they look quite cute.
i also have white hair..if it's really bothering you and you start getting bad opinions and comments on it, no sweat, just get rid of it. most of my white hairs are on my head and some are even the size of my longest streaks of hair! i pluck some of them sometimes tho :P it might be genetic, altho mine aren't. no one in my family had white hair at my age, and i'm 13!
I would leave them..it is a sign of future good fortune the more hairs the more money you will have..;0)
my brother went to school with one guy and he had a full head of grey hair when he was 13/14, receeding hair when he was 17 and bald when he was 25.
Some are just genetically prone to having grey hairs at a young age and there is not much you can do about it if its genetics except blame it on whoever you got it off :)
If it is hormonal you could speak to your doctor about it and see if there is anything he can do to help you.
regardless of the fact that your family is asian... at this age, I would say it's hereditary. Someone else in the family began premature grey hair growth. grand parents maybe. Other than that,.... stress is known to promote grey hair growth, but more likely it's in the genes!
If it is highly alarming, I would see a doctor. I got white hair when I was 15 for a short period of time when I was extremely stressed about moving across the country during my freshman year. Other factors besides stress can be vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
However, I've met four people that during their teenage years had grayish-white hair sprinkled across their body and one that was balding. There could be a genetic cause that you may want to consider, but it sounds like this is rare in your family.

you could ask your parents when they first had white hair. im asian but gold hair on my face, legs and head are visible. im not an albino cause my hair's brown and my eyes are like, black. i think its because of my family's spanish history but its kinda weird cause when i was like 10, i dont remember having gold hair and my brown/black hair never fell off . and now, if one will look closely, some of my black hairs started to have like gold bottoms, i dont mean roots its like half of the hair is gold

and right now i'm using Head%26amp;Shoulders
is there anyway so that i won't have dandruff or [really] oily hair anymore?? because i tend to scratch my head alot and then the dandruff goes under my nails and it's really annoying

use dandruff head and shoulders shampoo for dandruff.
use 2 lemons and put in 1cup of water. wet your hair with water and pour the lemon and water all over your head. wrap your hair in a towel and leave it like that for 15 minutes. do that once a week!
Use any kind of shampoo from Dove. Use conditioner too.
Try rinsing with some lemon juice or vinegar in a mug in the end after washing ur hair or try putting youghurt on ur head for a few hours.
Try Selsun Blue. They have different varieties, and it's what I use. It works way better than anything else i've used. I have a similar hair type.

In my experience with horrible dandruff, Head and Shoulders either does nothing and makes it worse. Here is what I have found really helps:
1. Scalpacin. You apply it to your scalp and it stops the itch for about 12 hours, so ideal when going to school or work. It doesn't make your hair look dirty or greasy and doesn't have a strong smell. You can get it at Wal-Mart.
2. Coal Tar shampoo. Again, you can get it at walmart. I think Neutogena makes one, but I got the walmart brand and it works just as good. It does smell, but the smell won't linger in your hair. Only use about once a week. It really helps clear the dandruff and stop some of the itching.
heyyy lynn! as u know, i'm asian too and what my doctor told me was to put baby oil in my hair and let it sit for about 10 minutes and then wash with selsun blue. i used to have dandruff but i did what he said and it works!!!!! i don't have dandruff anymore and my head isn't itchy!!!!!! it REALLY works!!!!!! =] hope it helps!
That happens to a lot of asian ppl. I get that too, and my mom does too. We're asian too. Sometimes my dad has it, and he's not asian. Anyway... just try to take showers/baths more often... and rinse ur hair well. Try to take a longer shower or switch your shampoo / conditioner to a different brand.
Fill a mug with fresh water

if you go to your local store and buy like a little bottle of anti dandruff shampoo thats like in the medicated shampoo area that helps im also Asian and my lil sis had that im lucky b/c my hair is healthy but hope that helps!*!*!*!*!
For me I think nothing wrong when guys keep their hair long but in some Asian societies people have a bit negative strange feeling. So I would like to know about general feeling about this matter because majority guys of this world do not keep their hair long.
I don't think hair length is a good judge of character level. Saying all men with long hair are stupid/unstable is like saying all men with beards are lumberjacks. It is a generalization based on personal experience. You should not judge some one by their hair, even if it is all matted. Sometimes things happen in people's lives that cause their personal appearance to suffer, but appearance can be changed or even used as deception of what is really going on.
I've only known one man who had long hair, and he was very intelligent and stable. I cannot judge others by his appearance.
I think men have short hair in most societies so as to be identified as men, it is part of their gender role. This is also because women now wear pants, which used to be strictly worn by men in western culture, and women wore dresses. Like it or not, cultures still have gender defining traits. Sometimes it is also religion, (some religions say if men should also wear beards or not.)
I do not find long hair attractive on men, at all, for any reason.....yuck!
i'm 36 and for the last 2 years i've had long hair. The rest of the time its been short. i'nm irish but i live and work in India so i kind of stick out anyway but the girls here tell me they like it

well here is an example Brad Pitt, Gorgeous as hell all the time, however, when he had his long hair in legends of the falls and interview with the vampire it looked good because it was brushed and taken care of. But when i saw paparazzi pics of him with long hair and all unbrushed and hippie-ish it looked gross. So i guess what i am trying to say is that it all depends on how the guy takes care of his hair.

My own hair is over 40 inches long and my boyfriends is about half that. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Can't say that about all long hair on guys but you can't say it looks good on all women either. Long hair is a huge turn on.

Sometimes it looks good, but sometimes it doesn't. If it's all greasy or tangled or just an unflattering cut, then of course it will be unattractive or stupid looking. But if he has nice hair and a cute face or something, then it looks hot. It all depends. I don't think you should judge a book by it's cover too much though.
it depends on the length for me, if that guy has the shaggy but short look like Tom Welling that's perfect! From Tom's length to anything shorter is the best. Long hair on guys in gross!!
I much prefer a clean-cut guy. Long hair to me is often (but not always) a sign of the tortured artist type, and I'm really past that phase now. Plus, I just find shorter hair more attractive.
However, there are some that can carry off long hair... just like there are some women that can carry off short hair. Some guys just don't have the face shape or hair type to look good with long hair.
I like guys with long hair. I like guys with short hair. I like skinheads, and headbangers with long frizzy hair. I like mohawks, liberty spikes, trihawks, and some emo cuts. The only hair I don't like is hawk-mos and really ugly emo cuts. All in all...I don't really care what kind of hair a guy has. I think people make such a big deal about it though because the world's perspective of a man is a clean cut, short haired, strong man who can support a family.
My advise: Move somewhere where you can get a guy with long hair. and then live long and prosper. =)
i am 13 years old i am asian/first nations(please no name calling or racism) i like nelly furtado's new look so i have a heart shape/oval,square head its not long i dont hvae a long forehead but i want bangs but i don't know i have shoulder length hair that is a bit below my shoulders!
just remember she has a very expensive stylist to do her hair! im sure when she wakes up it stands straight up and is frizzy? But if your patient and willing to work it every day than go for it i think its pretty cool!
